HistoriCorps is coming to Saline County, Illinois

HistoriCorps is a nonprofit organization that aims to engage volunteers in historic preservation training.

They are scheduled for a preservation project on the Saline County Poor House later this year.

The Saline County Poor House, established in 1839, served the county’s poor until its closure in the 1950s. Volunteers will work on tasks such as repairing porches and rehabilitating the building's exterior. It serves as the museum for the Saline County Historical Society.

Volunteers are needed! This is a great learning opportunity.

Volunteer sessions run from Sunday evening to Friday morning. Meals and mentorship are provided, and volunteers can camp on-site.
